Die singapurische Pianistin April Xi Yuan Foo arbeitet seit Dezember 2022 als Chorassistentin mit Korrepetitionsverpflichtung am Theater Erfurt.Von 2018 bis 2020 studierte sie Opernkorrepetition an der Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien (HMTM) Hannover bei Paul Weigold. Während ihres Studiums nahm April als Korrepetitorin an den Hochschulproduktionen „Ariadne auf Naxos“ und „Juliette“ teil. Darüber hinaus war sie Praktikantin im Bereich Korrepetition bei Staatsoper Hannover und Theater Hof und Stipendiatin vom Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienst (DAAD) und dem Richard-Wagner-Verband Hannover. Nach ihrem Masterabschluss arbeitete April an der Staatsoper Hannover als Chorassistentin und an der HMTM als Korrepetitorin im Fachbereich Gesang und korrepetierte gelegentlich bei den Johannes-Brahms- und Mädchenchören in Hannover.April erwarb ihren Bachelor of Music am Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapur bei Albert Tiu. 2017 gewann sie den 2. Preis im Conservatory Concerto Competition (mit Ravels Klavierkonzert für die linke Hand) und wurde 2018 als beste Klavierbegleitung im gleichen Wettbewerb ausgezeichnet. Seit 2009 war sie als freiberufliche Instrumental- und Vokalkorrepetitorin tätig und hat u. a. an den Opernproduktionen von „The Turn of the Screw“ und „Rita“ bei New Opera Singapore teilgenommen, sowie beim „Singapore Symphony Children's Choir" gearbeitet.

April Xi Yuan Foo is a Singaporean collaborative pianist currently based in Erfurt, Germany. She is the Chorus Assistant at Theater Erfurt and has previously worked in the same role at the Hannover State Opera House.She holds a Master's degree in Opera Accompaniment from the Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. Principal teachers include Prof. Paul Weigold, A/P Albert Tiu, Dr John Sharpley, Yeo Kian Boon, and Ong Sor Kuan. In 2017 April won the Second Prize in the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Concerto Competition with Ravel's Piano Concerto for the Left Hand. In the following year she clinched the Best Accompanist Award in the same competition.Active since 2009, April is a versatile collaborative musician equally comfortable with instrumental and vocal repertoire. She has worked with New Opera Singapore, the Singapore Symphony Children's Choir, and also performed in the Singapore International Festival of Music, just to name a few. During her graduate studies in Germany she received the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Music Scholarship and a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association in Hannover.
